# Tomatis® Method

## How does the Tomatis® method work?

The [Tomatis® Method](https://tomatis.com.au/what-is-the-tomatis-method/) is controlled by a single handheld device known as TalksUp®. It was created with specific characteristics in mind to treat music and the voice. "Electronic Gating®" is one of the many functions included in this gadget. The switch is a one-of-a-kind non-invasive method that allows sound contrasts by abruptly transitioning from low to high frequencies. This back-and-forth between low and high frequencies requires a lot of ear adjustment and stimulates the brain.\

Your Tomatis® professional creates a programme with sessions personalised to your profile after analysing your capacity to listen. You can continue your listening programme at home or in a licenced centre with TalksUp®.\

Patients listen to music with a headset that delivers sound through headphones (air conduction) as well as bone vibrations during "passive" sessions (bone conduction). During the " active " sessions, clients read and rehearse exercises through the same headset, which has a microphone, during the "active" sessions. This time, the voice is processed immediately to work on the auditory feedback loop.
